Our trip around the world is going on, after Italy and Indonesia, we arrived in Japan, this time there was a challenge, there had to be some maki in our bentos.
I choose to (try to) show the “Koyo”, the colourful leaves of the Japanese autumn. Japanese people love the viewing of these autumn leaves, it’s called “momijigari”(hunting for red leaves). The Japanese maple turns orange and red, the gingko turns yellow. There are famous “koyo spots” known for their beautiful trees, for example many of the temples of Kyoto are autumn leaves destinations.
In this bento : one "maple leaf" maki (salmon) ; two "gingko leaves" makis (omelet) ; sautéed ramen with chopped green onion ; lettuce and edamame ; apple ; torii made out of carrot, nori, ham

I wonder if you might be interested by such small posts or shall I just leave it out of my blog ? Please , leave a comment to tell me…
